The same phenomenon sometimes exists in relations between people. Contemplating the consequences can feel like a game of solitaire. As for the piece, it is in two sections, beginning with soleil, with "sun-like" musical gestures, then moving to terre, with, you guessed it, "earth-like" gestures. Aaron Liu-Rosenbaum is nearing the end of his Ph.D. candidacy in composition at the Graduate Center, and of his Instructional Technology Fellowship at the Macaulay Honors College. He seems to like programmatic pieces, lately. This is one of them. |
